Our services and resources

We assist clients with access to necessary social services by identifying resources, making referrals to partner agencies, helping to fill out forms, interpreting mail, navigating the immigration process, assisting with scheduling appointments and providing transportation.

We encourage language development during office and home visits and also work to engage refugee youth to help build the language skills of their elders, for whom language barriers can lead to feelings of isolation and helplessness.

Groups

Women's group

Women’s group focuses on helping refugee women identify what they want for themselves and how to get there by making good decisions, improving and exploring different skills, and also by learning how to live together for the best future life in Texas society.

This group is mostly run by the women participants. They share experiences and help each other.

Youth group & programs

Refugee youth come from different family backgrounds and war torn countries. Just by being relocated to a safe place does not undo the trauma.

New Americans Center’s youth group meets frequently under the guidance of New Americans Center staff and volunteers. This program provides a network of peers and trusted adults to build relationships with.

Refugees youth learn cooperation, network, participation and responsibility. Also they are empowered to advocate for themselves by suggesting programs and topics for their benefits.
Also youth meet twice per week and do sports ( soccer and basketball)
